Health Benefits of Coffee

The Coffee Association of Canada points out that coffee is a safe and natural beverage choice. ┬áIn fact, an emerging body of credible scientific research suggests that coffee may have a preventative role in various diseases, including various cancers, diabetes and Parkinson’s’ disease to name a few. Coffee has four times the antioxidant content of green tea. The amount of antioxidants in coffee also surpasses that of cocoa, other herbal teas and red wine, and even fruit and fresh vegetables. And this is true of decaffeinated coffee as well. At less than 2 1/2 calories per cup, coffee is very low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium. It is a good source of Pantothenic Acid, and a very good source of Riboflavin. In fact each cup of caffeinated coffee contains 11% of your daily Riboflavin requirement.
